Please contact your department if you have any questions. The comprehensive exam is conducted by the department according to the department's regulation.

1. Application period : April 3(Mon) ~ April 6(Thu), 2023

1) Exam Period : April 10(Mon) ~ April 14(Fri), 2023

2) The date and place of the comprehensive exam will be announced by each department.

3) How to check Pass: April 28(Fri), Academic Information System > School Register Management > Qualifying Examination > Qualifying Exam/Credit Acquisition Status > 자격심사(Qualification Examination) : Check the PASS of the [General Exam]

2. Qualification for Application

1) Master's : Registered for more than two semesters + acquired 18 credits or more, or applied for 24 credits or more + average grade B0 or above
2) Doctoral : Registered for more than 2 semesters + acquired 24 credits or more, or applied for 36 credits or more + average grade B0 or above
3) Combined Master's-Doctoral : Registered for 4 semesters or more + 36 credits or more, or applied for 45 credits or more + average grade B0 or above
※ Course Completion Students can only be eligible for the examination if they pay the research registration fee.

3. Examination Subject

1) Master's must take at least two courses according to the department's regulations.
2) Doctoral and Combined master's-Doctoral must take at least three courses according to the department's regulations.
※ Students must request their department assistant to register for their comprehensive exam courses.

4. Application for Exemption

1) The student who are accepted or published one paper in master's program and two papers in doctoral program in the journals below 2). 
2) ① Students majoring in Humanities, Society, Management, Hotel, Arts and Sports : SCIE, SSCI, A&HCI, SCOPUS, or National Research Foundation of Korea(한국연구재단)-registered journals, ② Students majoring in Science and Engineering : SCIE, SSCI, A&HCI or SCOPUS Journals
3) If you are the first author or corresponding author, approve it as one paper. In the case of co-authors, distribute them to the number of participating authors, and approve them as one if the total is 100%
4) A paper published by marking the author's affiliation as Sejong University after entering the degree program

5. How to apply

Application through the Academic Information System > School Register Management > Qualifying Examination > General Exam Application/Cancellation > Application Details

1) Application for an examination
(1) Select 【과목신청】(course application) from 〔General Exam Application Type〕 in the 〔Application Details〕
(2) Select the course in the 〔Course〕 : If there is no course you want to apply for the exam, please contact your department and ask them to register for the course 
(3) Click 〔Save(Request)〕 button

※ You don't have to apply for or pass all courses in a semester.(e.g., you can apply for one course in the 2023-1 semester, and the rest in the 2023-2 semester.)

2) Application for exemption
(1) Select 【대체신청】(exemption application) from 〔General Exam Application Type〕 in the 〔Application Details〕

(2) Choose 【학술지 논문 발표자】(Published paper) in the 〔Alternative〕
(3) Enter Paper Information : Paper title, Journal title, ISSN, Corresponding author and Published Date
(4) Click 〔Save(Request)〕 button
(5) Fill out the attached file No.1 of 〔Application for exemption of comprehensive exam〕, and submit it to the Graduate School office(Gwanggaeto Building 905) along with the printed copy of the paper
※ For doctoral applicants, enter information on two papers and submit both papers.

※ Please do not use staplers when submitting your papers.

6. Please Note

1) Retake: You can retake three times in master's and four times in doctoral program for the failed course.
2) If you apply for a course other than the course designated by the department, it will be invalidated, so please select the course correctly and apply.
3) Examination of the course you are taking this semester : Fill out the attached form No.2 of 〔Comprehensive exam for courses currently taking〕 and submit it to your department office. You can take the exam only after obtaining approval from the graduate school dean at the recommendation of the department's head.
4) You must take all the prerequisite courses designated by the department to take the exam
